Four trim levels comprise the 2020 Buick Encore range: 1SV, Preferred, Sport Touring, and Essence. The standard powertrain across the range is a 1.4-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that delivers 138 hp and 148 lb-ft to the front wheels, while all-wheel drive is offered on all but the 1SV. Rowing the gears for each trim is a six-speed automatic transmission.
The entry-level model rides on 18-inch alloys and comes equipped with halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, and LED taillights. The interior is upholstered in leatherette, with a six-way power driver’s seat complemented by a manual tilt-and-telescoping steering wheel. The infotainment suite comprises an eight-inch touchscreen supporting Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and SiriusXM, with all sound channeled through a six-speaker sound system.
More expensive trims and/or available packages add features like LED headlights, fog lights, dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, and a seven-speaker Bose sound system.
