The base 1SV trim, the first of 6 trim lines for the 2018 Buick Encore starts with a base MSRP of $22,990. Similarly equipped to the Preferred line, the base 1SV features the lower powered 138hp engine and front-wheel drive, 18-inch alloy wheels, a rear view camera, SiriusXM Satellite Radio, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality, 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot functionality, power adjustable driver seat, single zone climate control, and cruise control, while the Preferred gets floor mats and a cargo cover, along with access to optional packages, for a $24,400 MSRP.
The Touring model costs a little more at $25,600, but represents the best value for money proposition and unlocks access to the higher powered 1.4T motor as an option, while also equipping fog lights, a rear spoiler, remote start, a 120-volt power supply, an optional Bose 7-speaker sound system, blind spot alert, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The $495 Safety Package is a worthwhile addition comprising rear cross traffic alert and blind spot monitoring.
Preferred II uses the Sport Touring as its foundation, and offers the same specification but adds dual-zone automatic climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, blind spot monitoring rear cross traffic alert as standard while increasing the price to $26,900.
LED headlights, leather upholstery, a six-way power passenger seat, heated front seats, heated steering wheel, and driver seat memory functions are all included on the Essence model for $29,100, while the top specification Premium trim starts at $30,600 and is equipped with front and rear parking sensors, forward collision warning, lane departure warning, automatic wipers, and the Bose 7-speaker audio system as standard.
Available on the Preferred II, Essence, and Premium models, the Buick Experience Package equips the Encore with 18-inch chromed alloy wheels, a sunroof, and an 8-inch infotainment system, but adds $2,390 to the price.
$1,500 upgrades your chosen trim from front-wheel to all-wheel drive, with the exception of the 1SV which is a front-drive only model. If you’re wanting the higher powered engine, $895 is how much extra you’ll need, but bear in mind it’s only available from Sport Touring trim upwards.
