2023 Cadillac XT5 Safety and Reliability

In its review of the 2023 Cadillac XT5, the NHTSA gave it an overall safety rating of five stars. Only the rollover test received a slightly lower score of four stars. The IIHS has partially tested the 2023 model and gave it a rating of Good in all the evaluated categories, aside from the headlights, which scored Marginal.

The Cadillac comes standard with ABS, traction and stability control, seven airbags, an HD rearview camera, and front and rear park assist. The driver-assistance features include forward collision avoidance, lane-keep assist, lane-departure warning, and a teen-driver system. Higher-spec models feature blind-spot monitoring, lane change alert, self-dimming side mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, a head-up display, and a surround-view camera system. Optional packages can also include niceties like automatic parking assist with braking, reverse automatic braking, adaptive cruise control, and rear pedestrian alert.

The 2023 Cadillac XT5 received 82 out of a possible 100 points overall in the JD Power survey, and an excellent 86 for Quality & Reliability. Caddy's XT5 was recalled three times in 2022, for a faulty transmission that may cause the car to roll away while in Park, for a fuel tank that may not seal properly in the event of a rollover, and for a rear suspension part that may fail. The transmission problem carries over to the 2023 XT5 and is joined by an additional recall - for an illegible tire-information label.
