2023 Bolt EV Interior
The 2022 Chevy Bolt EV benefitted from a major interior overhaul, and the changes still feel fresh. We like the classy dashboard design and the lack of clutter. The electronic gear shifter design is minimalist and frees up a good amount of center console space. The flat-bottom steering wheel is a nod to the Bolt EV's sporty side (yes, it can be a blast to drive), and the overall build quality feels solid. Don't expect a premium interior, but one that will last the car's lifetime. Features such as an eight-way power-adjustable front seat on the 2LT, automatic climate control, and a 10.2-inch touchscreen display make this an easy car to live with daily. The car's hatchback design also makes visibility great from front to rear, and getting in and out of this little EV is a breeze.

Seating and Interior Space
The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV interior offers two rows of seating, with space for up to five adults. Those sitting in the front get six-way manually-adjustable seats on the base model, while the 2LT comes with an eight-way power-adjustable driver's seat. The front seats are comfortable over long distances, but we wish they offered more support when going around the bends, especially considering how quick the Bolt EV actually is. The driving position is confident but not too high, and visibility is great in all directions. Getting in and out of the 2023 Bolt EV's interior space is easy, and even taller passengers shouldn't have an issue slipping in and out. Legroom in the rear is a little compromised at 36 inches, with those same occupants having to deal with 37.9 inches of headroom.

Interior Colors and Materials
The 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV ain't no Rolls-Royce, but the choice of materials and build quality of the interior is not bad at all. The base model features Jet Black cloth seat trim, and the 2LT gets more premium Jet Black perforated leather upholstery. The rest of the interior features a scattering of hard and soft plastics and a streak of brushed-aluminum-looking trim pieces that nicely ties an otherwise dark cabin together. We did find that the polished black trim around the shifter and infotainment touchscreen likes to gather fingerprints and dust, but it's a minor niggle.
2023 Bolt EV Trunk and Cargo Space
The trunk volume and overall interior space of the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV are impressive thanks to its hatchback design, and most will find that this little EV provides more than enough space for life in the city. Behind the rear seats, you're offered an ample 16.6 cubic feet of space. Fold down the 60/40 split rear seat, and the Bolt EV offers a healthy 57 cubic feet. The Nissan Leaf offers a more significant 23.6 cubes behind the rear seats but can only muster 30 cubic feet behind the rear seats. Small items can be stored in the door pockets, glovebox, or center console storage bin. Both trim levels also offer a false cargo floor for added storage, and 2LT models get a front passenger seatback map pocket.

2023 Bolt EV Infotainment and Features
Features
The Chevrolet Bolt EV comes with most of the modern tech and comfort features you'd expect to see in an EV in the year 2023. The base model will keep a smile on your face with front cloth seats, automatic climate control, a sporty flat-bottomed steering wheel, Wi-Fi integration, and keyless open and start. The base model features standard pedestrian safety alert, teen driver, and an HD rearview camera. The more accomplished 2LT includes leather upholstery, a heated eight-way power driver's seat with two-way power lumbar driver seat controls, ambient interior lighting, HD surround vision, a heated steering wheel, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror. The 2LT is also the safer car, thanks to standard rear cross-traffic alert. An eight-inch digital cluster that displays battery status, speed, range, and more keeps the driver in the loop.
Infotainment
The standard infotainment system on the 2023 Chevrolet Bolt EV is a solid deal and comes with a 10.2-inch touchscreen display with AM/FM radio, Bluetooth streaming, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and voice recognition. Both trim levels come with a six-speaker sound system that sounds at its best when playing Golden Years by David Bowie. For those who like to bang even harder than Bowie, Chevrolet offers a Bose premium seven-speaker sound system with a built-in subwoofer on 2LT vehicles. The overall experience with this system was pleasing; the touchscreen is responsive, and the menus are easy to understand.
