2020 Colorado Exterior

The Colorado features a simple but clean design, with a large grille housing the trademark Chevy bowtie. Base models feature black mirror caps and door handles, and ride on 17-inch steel wheels, while elsewhere in the range, body-colored exterior trims are available, along with alloy wheels available in 17-, 18-, and 20-inch styles. Most of the range makes use of the smaller of these wheel sizes, with the larger designs reserved for the numerous special appearance packages that are available. The Redline Edition, for example, features a predominantly black design with red accents, and its wheels mirror that look.

Dimensions vary depending on the bed and cab configuration. The long bed measures 74 inches in length with the short bed coming in at 61.7 inches.

Extended Cab models are only available with the long bed and measure 212.7 inches in length, with a wheelbase measuring 128.3 inches. ZR2 models are an exception, measuring 212.4 inches long with a wheelbase of 128.5. Height on rear-wheel-drive models is between 70.3 and 70.7 inches, with 4x4 variants slotting in that range, too. The ZR2 is a little taller, measuring 72.2 inches high. Width is 74.3 inches, with ZR2s measuring 2.4 inches wider.

Crew Cab variants are available with a short or long bed. Length measures 212.7 and 224.9 inches respectively, with wheelbase at 128.3 and 140.5 inches. Height is 70.7 inches for the rear-wheel-drive version with a short bed and 70.5 with the long bed. 4x4 variants measure 70.7 and 70.5 inches respectively. Width is the same as on the extended cab.

Maximum available payload capacity is 1,578 lbs, while 4x2 Crew Cab models with the Z82 trailering package and 2.8-liter turbodiesel engine are capable of a class-leading 7,700 lbs of trailering capacity.

The maximum ground clearance is 8.4 inches on the 4x2s, with 4x4s at as much as 8.9. Approach, departure, and breakover angles are 28.7, 25.4, and 21.5 degrees respectively.
