The Z71 is where the Chevy starts leaning more into its off-roading capabilities. It no longer offers the option of the weaker four-pot engine, as the V6 becomes standard. It also receives a transfer case and equips the truck with projector-beam headlights and fog lamps. Inside, leatherette/cloth upholsters the seats and driver-seat power lumbar adjustment and reading lights are added. The first improvements to the safety suite are made with the addition of the rear parking sensors, and the infotainment adds an HD display, with HD Radio added to the listening options.
