The interior of the Chevrolet Colorado has been totally redesigned and fixes one of the old truck's main flaws. The dashboard borrows styling cues from the Silverado 1500 and Camaro, and it's properly high-tech, with a digital gauge cluster and the same big infotainment screen fitted to all trims. However, many functions that previously had their own buttons have been relegated to the screen, forcing you to take your eyes off the road too much, with operation becoming even more difficult when being shaken about off-road. You can't even switch on the foglights or traction control any other way, with these functions now touchscreen-based. At least the climate control still has its own buttons. There are still many hard plastics in evidence, but the quality of the materials has been improved, with pleasing padding, texturing, and stitching added to higher trims. The center air vents are sited too low for most people's taste, though.
The seats of the Chevrolet Colorado vary by trim, and although seating comfort is good on all of them, the front seats of the LT and Z71 feature better bolstering and lower hip support. One thing that hasn't improved is the decidedly average interior space, and it's still about the same as in the old Colorado, with a small loss in headroom. Front-seat passengers won't have anything to complain about, but in the second row, the 34.7 inches of legroom is getting tight for people approaching six feet in height - and it's beaten by rivals such as the Honda Ridgeline and Jeep Gladiator. It's better than a Ranger or Frontier, but it's not the biggest truck inside. Only the ZR2 gets a standard power driver's seat, but it's optional on the other trims. No power adjustment is available for the front passenger seat at all, not even on the top trims or optionally.

Up to Trail Boss level, you don't get a choice of interior colors for the Chevrolet Colorado, with Jet Black being the only option. The lower three trims have cloth upholstery, with Evotex leatherette available for $1,250. The Z71 gets Jet Black/Adrenaline Red seats in a combination of cloth and leatherette, but you can upgrade this to genuine leather in the same color scheme. However, to get the leather requires you to add the Z71 Convenience Package II with items such as a tilting/telescoping steering column, a wireless charging pad, a heated steering wheel, power driver's lumbar support with memory, and some driver assists, for a total outlay of $3,040. The ZR2 comes with Jet Black/Artemis seats in cloth/leatherette, but this can be substituted for leather too, again by adding a package, this time the ZR2 Convenience Package III that also adds items such as ventilated seats and the Safety package for a total outlay of $1,490. You can opt for red seatbelts in the Z71 and yellow seatbelts in the ZR2 for $50 extra. On the base WT, you can exchange the standard floor carpeting for rubberized vinyl at a cost of $50.
The new Chevrolet Colorado's cargo space is limited by the fact that it only comes with a crew-cab body and one five-foot-two bed size from this year, allowing for a maximum payload of between 1,423 lbs and 1,720 lbs, depending on the trim. The bed is 61.7 inches long and 58.9 inches wide (45.5 inches between the wheel housings), for a total cargo volume of 41.9 cu-ft. The StowFlex tailgate comes with a lidded compartment that's 45 inches wide and four inches deep and has a drain, so it can also be used as a cooler. The tailgate also has a measuring tool molded into its surface, as well as two cupholders. This item is standard on the ZR2 and optionally available on the other trims as a part of packages. A 110V power outlet and motorcycle-tire indents in the front of the bed are also available. The bed comes with eight tie-down hooks with the option of adding an additional nine flexible ones, while an optional drop-in bedliner with integral storage compartments is available. Only the ZR2 gets a spray-in bedliner, but it's optional on the other trims.
In the cabin, there is a traditional glove compartment, center-console storage (uncovered in the WT, lidded in the rest), a spacious area to store your phone (which becomes the wireless charging pad when fitted), two cupholders in front, and front and rear door pockets. A driver's seatback pocket and a center rear armrest containing two cupholders are optionally available on the LT, Z71, and ZR2, but only as part of a package, but a passenger seatback pocket is standard on these trims. The rear seat splits in a 60/40 ratio to expand in-cabin trunk volume.

A good level of basic standard features are fitted to the WT, but it's not too bare-bones and the big new touchscreen and an eight-inch digital gauge cluster are standard features. At this level, you get remote keyless entry, an electronic parking brake, cloth upholstery, manually adjustable seats, a tilt-adjustable steering column, a 60/40-split rear seat, power windows and door locks, and single-zone climate control. Standard driver assists are quite generous for a base model and include the Chevy Safety Assist package with forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection, lane-departure warning, and lane-keep assist. Higher up the trim ladder, lots of additional features become standard or optionally available, such as a power driver's seat, leather upholstery, a telescoping steering column, remote start, cruise control, a wireless charging pad, an 11-inch digital gauge cluster, and additional driver assists.
The big news for the 2023 redesign is the standard fitment of the same 11.3-inch touchscreen on all trims. This infotainment system has Google built in and comes with SiriusXM, Bluetooth audio streaming, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, two front USB ports, a three-year Remote Access Plan, and a six-speaker audio system. A seven-speaker Bose premium audio system is optionally available on the LT, Z71, and ZR2, but only as part of a package. The bottom four trims are fitted with an eight-inch digital gauge cluster, but the ZR2's measures 11 inches. The LT gains one rear USB port, while the Z71 and ZR2 both have two rear USB ports.
The five-foot-two bed has a total cargo volume of 41.9 cu-ft and can accept a payload of between 1,423 lbs and 1,720 lbs, depending on the trim.
The Colorado can accommodate a maximum of five passengers in two rows.
