The Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD has traditionally taken a back seat while the Ford F-250 and the Ram 2500 duke it out for the heavy-duty full-size truck trophy in the USA, but 2020 brings with it a full redesign and a new standard engine. Yes, the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD is better than ever before. Under the hood, you can now find a 401-horsepower V8 engine as standard, but you still get the option of going with that fabulous 910 lb-ft Duramax diesel motor that can haul up to 18,510 lbs. This pickup truck also features an interior that is much more modern, and with a relatively low base price, you can build quite the pickup with money to spare.
The entire Silverado range was redesigned for the 2020 model year, including the 2500HD. The optional diesel engine remains unchanged from the previous model, although it does come paired with an all-new ten-speed automatic transmission, and a new 6.6-liter V8 engine replaces the former 6.0-liter variant. Other changes include a reinforced chassis, heavy-duty universal joints, and an overhauled exterior. This has resulted in a new-generation pickup that has the towing capacity to match its aggressive looks. Some other notable changes to the exterior include a power liftgate and a sidestep to make accessing the cargo bay even easier.

After a thorough review of the 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 2500HD, one thing is certain: Chevrolet has pulled all the stops to get the Silverado on par with its competitors from Ford and Ram, and for the most part, it has succeeded. The new gasoline V8 engine provides excellent torque outputs and pulling power, although it is thirsty and its reliability is yet to be ascertained, and Chevrolet has done well to address some styling and design issues. The exterior of the Silverado is an attractive one, and while the interior might not be as refined as that of the Ford F-250, it's still a very comfortable place to sit in. There's also a lot of optional tech on offer. The Silverado 2500HD is a highly capable machine on and off-road and starts with an asking price in the mid $30k mark. We think Chevrolet has done a great job of bringing the Silverado 2500HD truck up to speed, and we would recommend checking one out before heading to a Ram or Ford showroom.
