The 2022 Chevy Spark is available in four trims, all of which have the same 1.4-liter engine developing 98 horses and 94 lb-ft of torque. Each comes with a five-speed manual gearbox and is available with a CVT for an extra $1,100. The base LS model is very spartan and its meager cabin reflects this, with manual door locks, windows, and wing mirrors. The 1LT at least features alloy wheels and heated power mirrors, along with a better sound system, LED DRLs, and cruise control, as well as satellite radio, a multifunction steering wheel, and power windows and door locks. The Activ trim is intended to look like an off-roader with its numerous black plastic body panels and a unique grille. It also features fog lights that aren't available elsewhere in the range. Other features include a roof rack and heated front seats with leatherette upholstery. The top trim has the same heated seats and upholstery, but also boasts rear parking sensors and the exclusive option of some driver aids on the automatic version.
The abovementioned Driver Confidence Package is the only addition worth considering on a car like this, and at just $295, it's certainly an easy sell. However, this package is only available on the top 2LT trim and the catch is that it can only be had in conjunction with the frustrating CVT automatic transmission. It features lane departure warning and forward collision alert with low-speed autonomous emergency braking. If you'd like aluminum sport pedals, this will cost 155 bucks while matching aluminum sill plates cost $85. Nothing else - besides the thousand-dollar power sunroof - is worth spending on.
