The new 296 GTB is Ferrari's new "junior" hybrid supercar. It breaks with Ferrari convention with its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 bolstered by an electric motor to make a combined 819 hp. Together with an eight-speed F1 dual-clutch automatic transmission, the 0-62 mph sprint takes a mere 2.9 seconds. A novelty for a supercar, the 296 GTB can be driven on electric power alone, although only for around eight miles.
The Ferrari comes with 20-inch wheels, an active wing, and a high-mounted central exhaust outlet. Inside is a digital interface, including a passenger-side display. Leather upholstery and large paddle shifters complete the spoty look. The available Assetto Fiorano package adds various carbon fiber exterior bits and other weight-saving materials. It also adds improved downforce for more effective results on the track.
