The exterior of the Genesis Electrified GV70 exhibits all the typical Genesis styling cues, such as the horizontal strip lights and quirky detailing, brought together in a cohesive way to sufficiently stand out in a crowd but remain inoffensive. It looks premium, smart, modern, and different - not an easy feat to pull off. There's still a big Genesis grille in the front bumper, but it's blanked off, with a different lower air intake and no gaping side intakes. The profile tapers coupe-like to the rear, and a spoiler tops the rear window. The wheels are 20-inch alloys and LED headlights, power-folding side mirrors, a hands-free smart power liftgate with auto open, and a panoramic sunroof are all standard fare.
In terms of its dimensions, the Genesis Electrified GV70 falls in the compact crossover SUV class alongside rivals of similar size, such as the Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron. The Electrified GV70 has a length of 185.6 inches stretched over a 113.2-inch wheelbase, a width of 75.2 inches without the mirrors, and a height of 64.2 inches. Ground clearance is just 6.9 inches, and although this is clearly no off-roader, Genesis does list approach and departure angles of 19 and 22.6 degrees, respectively, for what they're worth. Its minimum curb weight is 4,982 pounds.

Although the international press photos show whites and blues, there are currently only four exterior colors for the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 in the US and we hope that the palette will be expanded in due course. All are demure grayscale shades and they all cost extra. Three of them cost $575 and these are Vik Black, Savile Silver, and Makalu Gray. The fourth shade is the $1,500 Makalu Gray Matte.
We like the subtle Makalu Gray the most in its default gloss-metallic finish for $575.

The standard alloy wheels measure 20 inches in diameter and no alternative options are offered.
