The 2023 Genesis G90's safety is of the highest order, and the IIHS has awarded it Good scores all around, resulting in a Top Safety Pick+ award. The NHTSA has not conducted a crash test on the G90 yet, but we expect similarly high ratings will apply if they do.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
In addition to top-notch crash safety, the G90 is equipped with virtually all the safety features in the book. The federally mandated ABS, stability control, backup camera, and tire-pressure monitoring are naturally standard, as are no fewer than ten airbags and a smartphone-based Genesis Digital Key. The list of driver assists is a long one and includes adaptive cruise control with stop & go, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a surround-view monitor, parking sensors front and rear, a head-up display, automatic LED headlights with auto high beams, rain-sensing wipers, forward-collision warning, automatic emergency braking, lane-keep and -following assist, blind-spot and rear-cross-traffic collision avoidance, driver-attention warning, forward, side, and rear parking-collision avoidance, and automatic smart parking.

Judging by the automaker's excellent reputation, the Genesis G90's reliability should be very good and this brand-new car has so far been subject to only one recall for the 2023 model year - for replacing a seatbelt pretensioner that might explode. The outgoing G90 wasn't recalled a single time in any of its last four years on the market, and its JD Power rating for Quality & Reliability was an exemplary 91 out of 100. It looks like the new one is off to a good start and should emulate these results once it's evaluated.
Add to this the Genesis G90's warranty and peace of mind is guaranteed. Guarantee cover is industry-leading, with the limited warranty covering the car for five years/60,000 miles and the powertrain warranty for ten years/100,000 miles. Genesis even throws in three years/36,000 miles of complimentary maintenance.
The IIHS has awarded the G90 with a 2023 Top Safety Pick+ award, so it's certainly very safe.
The new G90 has ten airbags. The front-seat passengers each get a front, side, and knee airbag and share a center airbag. The rear-seat passengers also get side airbags and the heads of both rows' passengers are covered by full-length curtain airbags.
