The GMC Sierra 1500's exterior is as handsome as it is large. This truck has a bold look, mostly thanks to that massive front grille and the large red letters that spell out "GMC". The Sierra 1500 offers a massive range of exterior features scattered across an extensive trim line. The base model features basics such as 17-inch painted silver steel wheels, vinyl upholstery, and manual side mirrors, but going for a mid-range model such as the Elevation bags 20-inch alloy wheels, body-colored bumpers and door handles, and LED foglights. The AT4 features 18-inch wheels with off-road-ready Mud-Terrain Goodyear tires. The Denali gets nice-to-haves, such as six-inch chrome full-length assist steps and a power-sliding rear window with a rear defogger. The Denali Ultimate gets 22-inch Midnight painted alloy wheels and front and rear GMC logos in Vader Chrome.
Big trucks come with big numbers, and the GMC Sierra 1500 is on the larger side. Its dimensions depended on whether it's a Regular Cab, a Double Cab, a Crew Cab, and which box is fitted. Depending on these factors, its total length varies from 211 to 241.5 inches, its wheelbase from 126.5 to 157 inches, and its width, without side mirrors, from 81.1 to 81.24 inches. Overall height varies from 75.4 to 75.7 inches, with the AT4 standing an impressive 78.24 inches tall. Ground clearance is between 7.9 and 8.1 inches on average, but the AT4 takes that figure up to 10.97 inches and the AT4-X to 11.1 inches. Curb weights range from the mid-4,500-pound range and can inch towards 6,000 pounds. For example, a Pro 4x2 Regular Cab with a standard box weighs in at 4,430 lbs, while an AT4-X 4x4 Crew Cab with the 6.2 V8 engine will tip the scales at 5,640 pounds.

This handsome hunk of a truck can be coated in five different shades in its base form. Summit white is the only no-cost option and is followed by Cardinal Red, Onyx Black, Sterling Metallic, and Pacific Blue Metallic; all $495 options. Higher up, colors such as Titanium Rush, Dynamic Blue, Desert Sand, Deep Bronze, and Volcanic Red Metallic are added. The Denali can be painted in White Frost metallic for an additional $1,095.
We love Deep Bronze Metallic but the Volcanic Red Tintcoat is eye-catching too. For branding purposes, or on the workhorse trims, most owners would probably stick to white and black.
White Frost Metallic is a $1,095 option on Denali models.
Wheel sizes range from 17 inches all the way up to 22 inches.
