2022 GMC Terrain Overview

GMC has given its Terrain compact crossover yet another update following a refresh for 2020. The 2022 Terrain gains the new off-road AT4 trim, complete with a front steel skid plate, bigger off-road tires, and black exterior chrome trim. The entire Terrain lineup, meanwhile, boasts a new front grille and restyled front and rear LED lights. GMC has further added some new exterior color options plus new 18- and 19-inch wheel designs.

The interior was also upgraded with more premium fabrics, standard wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. An 8-inch driver's display is newly optional for the top-trim Denali, which also comes with a standard head-up display. The AT4 and SLT trims can get that HUD as an option. All Terrains come standard with GMC's Pro Safety suite that includes lane keep assist with lane departure warning, forward collision alert, front pedestrian braking, following distance indicator, and automatic high-beam assists.

Power comes from a 1.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 170 horsepower and 203 lb-ft of torque and linked to a nine-speed automatic transmission. The 2.0-liter turbocharged inline with 252 hp and 260 lb-ft has been discontinued. The 2022 GMC Terrain lineup will go on sale this summer while the Denali trim is due in the fall.
