2022 Accord Interior

The interior of the Accord is excellent when you consider its price. The cabin is spacious, with a generous amount of rear legroom being a highlight. Build quality is solid and we can't fault the finish, which is as good as we'd expect from a far more premium vehicle. Seat comfort is definitely something Honda focused on, while quality-of-life features like dual-zone climate control and user-friendly infotainment make for a relaxed and pleasant driving experience. There are some premium-level amenities available to the upper trims, including power-adjustable front seats, heating functionality for front and rear seats, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

Seating and Interior Space

For a midsize sedan, the Accord has a lot more interior space than you might think. In fact, you wouldn't have any trouble seating five in relative comfort. There is a whopping 40.4 inches of legroom in the second-row seats, and headroom is quite generous at 37.3 inches (dropping just a smidge when the sunroof is fitted). Unlike with many other hybrids, the battery pack under the rear seats doesn't impinge on passenger space in the Accord Hybrid.

Those in the front get a little extra space to enjoy at 42.3 inches of legroom and up to 39.5 inches of headroom. This makes the Accord one of the most tall-person-friendly cars in the class. As standard, the driver's seat is manually adjustable, but this can be upgraded to a 12-way power seat with power lumbar support, while the passenger gets four-way power-adjustability at most. Heating is also available to the front and rear seats, with ventilated front seats restricted to the top-tier Touring models.

Interior Colors and Materials

The cabin of the Accord can be dressed in either cloth or leather, depending on the trim you opt for. The former is standard on the LX and Sport, while the upper tiers get leather as standard. Color varies, too, but the restricting factor here is the exterior paint you choose. The Sport and Sport SE only allow for a black interior scheme, while the LX will let you pair Ivory cloth with the Platinum White premium paint. The requirement to get Ivory leather is the same for both the EX-L and Touring, but the leather on Touring trims is perforated.

Overall build quality is excellent, and the cabin feels as close to premium as can be expected for the price point. A leather-wrapped steering wheel is standard from the Sport upwards.

2022 Accord Trunk and Cargo Space

As with the rest of the vehicle, the trunk of the Accord is very accommodating. While it is nowhere near as practical as a crossover, the Honda sedan can store up to 16.7 cubic feet of stuff behind the rear seats. This figure doesn't drop when you opt for a hybrid trim, which is often the case with other brands. If the standard allotment isn't enough for some of the larger items you need to transport, you can fold down the rear seats in a 60/40 split. Only the base LX doesn't have the more practical 60/40 split, which means its rear seatback can only fold down as one piece. One criticism we do have is the narrow aperture for loading cargo.

Small-item storage around the cabin is adequate. The center console storage compartment can easily stow cellphones or wallets, while the door pockets are wide enough for water bottles and the like. There is a standard glove compartment, too, and each row of seats gets a pair of cupholders.

2022 Accord Infotainment and Features

Features

With a total of five trims, the features available to the Honda Accord are well spread out. You always get the essentials, but most of the luxury and advanced tech is limited to the upper trims. The basics include dual-zone climate control, push-button start, a manual driver's seat, adaptive cruise control, and a rearview camera. Other standard driver assists include forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, lane keep assist, and road departure mitigation. As you move up the trim levels, additional features become standard or available, including a 12-way power driver's seat, a four-way power passenger seat, a power moonroof, heated front and rear seats, parking sensors, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. The Touring is unique in that it gets heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and a head-up display.

Infotainment

The infotainment suite comprises a standard eight-inch touchscreen display granting access to hands-free Bluetooth with audio streaming, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto , and HondaLink. This comes paired with a four-speaker sound system on the LX, while the Sport trims get eight speakers, and the EX-L and Touring boast a ten-speaker setup. The smartphone integration is wireless on the Sport 2.0T, EX-L, and Touring, which also get SiriusXM, HD Radio, and wireless phone charging. Navigation and Wi-Fi hotspot capability are reserved for the Touring.
