The Type R is all new and features a more potent engine, updated mechanicals, and a more understated aesthetic. It rolls on 19-inch wheels and features the trademark rear wing spoiler and triple-outlet exhausts. All-LED exterior lighting is standard. Inside, the cabin has been refreshed too, but red suede-finish seats are included with red carpets, and there is dual-zone climate control, red ambient lighting, and a new, larger color touchscreen for the infotainment setup. At nine inches in size, it comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and plays sound through to 12 Bose speakers. Safety features include forward collision warning, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, traffic sign recognition, and adaptive cruise control, to name just a few.
