2023 CR-V Interior

The design brief for the all-new Honda CR-V was to update the cabin to be sportier and more contemporary than before, and for the most part, the automaker has done a good job. Attention has been given to the driver's seating position and the front seats are supposed to prevent fatigue over long trips. There is more space in the cabin than before, and all models have power seat adjustments that include lumbar support. The honeycomb design on the dash goes a long way to enhancing the look and feel of the cabin. Top models get a large nine-inch color touchscreen for infotainment, but the new layout includes a seven-inch driver information interface across the range.

Seating and Interior Space

The Honda CR-V seats five in total, and thanks to the new, roomier cabin, all passengers will be happy to spend time in it. Although the rear middle seat is never the best place to be, the back row gets improved legroom figures of 41 inches - up 0.6 inches from the previous model, with these seats having a recline function. Up front, occupants are spoiled with 41.3 inches of legroom, and there are 38.2 inches of headroom throughout the cabin. Seat heating for the driver and front passenger is also standard, and with ten-way power adjustment (including two-way lumbar), spending time on the road won't feel like a chore.

Interior Colors and Materials

The base model gives you just one option - black cloth. One level up opens up two choices for interior colors on the Honda CR-V - black or gray cloth. The base hybrid trim has just the former. The EX-L and Sport Touring Hybrid at least offer leather in the same color schemes. To further whittle down the choices, the availability of the interior color depends on what exterior paint you choose. All models, except the entry-spec gas model, get a leather-wrapped shift knob and steering wheel.

2023 CR-V Trunk and Cargo Space

The Honda CR-V has traditionally been a leader when it comes to cargo space, and little has changed for 2023; in fact, you get even more space than before. The new model offers a tenth of a cube more space behind the rear seat than the previous model, and with 76.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded down, that almost a whole cube more this year.

Interior storage is also impressive; all models come standard with a multi-functional center console storage with armrest, front and rear cupholders, a lockable glove compartment, door-pocket storage bins, a driver-side garment hook, and a front passenger's seat back pocket.

2023 CR-V Infotainment and Features

Features

There's tons to like about the new Honda CR-V, and the standard feature list is one of them. The base model gets just the basics, but all models thereafter get standard ambient lighting, push-button start, dual-zone automatic climate control, heated front seats, and a ten-way power driver seat with two-way lumbar settings. Higher up in the range you get a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shifter, and an auto-dimming rearview mirror.

All models come standard with Honda's Sensing driver assistance suite, which includes tech such as a collision mitigation braking system, a road departure mitigation system, adaptive cruise control, and a lane-keeping assist system. Traffic sign recognition and a traffic jam assist feature are also equipped throughout the lineup, together with blind-spot information. You get front and rear parking sensors on the two top trims, and wireless charging and navigation are standard on the top model.

Infotainment

A seven-inch touchscreen has been introduced this year and serves as the infotainment hub on base models. It comes with Bluetooth compatibility, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 240-watt audio system with six speakers. On the EX-L and Sport Touring Hybrid, this is upgraded to a nine-inch color touchscreen with SiriusXM and HD Radio, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a 320-watt eight-speaker audio system on the EX-L. The top-of-the-range Sport Touring Hybrid gets the best in terms of audio equipment, featuring a 12-speaker Bose sound system with a subwoofer.
