Three trims comprise the line-up for the new 2019 Hyundai Kona Electric. Despite being classified as the base model of the three, the $36,450 SEL is still impressively equipped with such features as automatic temperature control, heated front seats, and Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility. But Hyundai has equipped the Kona Electric with an abundance of safety features such as forward collision warning, automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, blind spot monitoring with rear cross-traffic alert, and a driver attention warning. For all the features and the tantalizing price, this is our pick of the three. The Limited is the first model to receive leather, and the first to receive LED headlights with automatic high beams. Other features added to this $41,150 trim are a power tilt-and-slide sunroof, power adjustment for the driver’s seat, wireless device charging, and an eight-speaker Infinity audio system with a subwoofer. The fully loaded Ultimate is a further $3,500 more expensive at $44,650, but equips additional safety features like pedestrian detection, park sensors, and stop-and-go functionality for the adaptive cruise control. Ventilated seats, a heated steering wheel, a head-up display, and an eight-inch navigation-equipped display are also included for the extra money.
