Hyundai focuses on durability more than flashiness, so the materials used are hardy but not overly opulent. The SE is the only model to come with basic cloth upholstery, while the SEL and XRT upgrade to H-Tex synthetic leather. If you want the genuine article, the LTD has you covered, and the Calligraphy boasts the most premium Nappa leather. As for color options, you have a limited list, comprising black or gray for cloth and H-Tex, while leather and premium Nappa leather swap dull gray for creamy beige. However, the XRT is limited purely to black on the inside.

One of the primary selling points of any SUV is cargo space, and three-row cars like the Hyundai Palisade normally fall a little short in this area. Since the extra seating eats into the trunk, many owners end up leaving the rear-most seats down most of the time. Luckily, that isn't the case here, as even with all the seats upright, there is a respectable 18 cubic feet of trunk volume. But, if you do need more room, dropping the third-row seats increases the capacity to 45.8 cubes, which is more in line with large two-row SUVs. Maximum capacity is achieved by lowering all but the frontmost seats, supplying 86.4 cubic feet.

For small-item storage, you get the usual glove box and center armrest cubby, but also four spacious door pockets, an underfloor storage compartment, and a total of 16 cupholders around the cabin. Of course, there are a number of bins around the console and driver controls.

People expect a lot from their cars, especially when they need to keep their family comfortable, safe, and entertained. In this regard, the Palisade doesn't leave consumers wanting. Even in base guise, it is well equipped, especially in terms of safety, with forward collision avoidance, blind-spot monitoring, lane-keep assist, highway assist, rear parking sensors, and rear cross-traffic alert all included. The conveniences are a little less generous, with a six-way manual driver's seat, manual air conditioning, and cruise control, though a proximity key with push-button start and remote engine start is standard, too. The SEL upgrades to an eight-way power driver's seat, heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and LED interior lights.

A sunroof is included on the XRT, along with heated and ventilated front and second-row seats, an eight-way power passenger seat, and a wireless charger. The Limited and Calligraphy round things out with heated third-row seats, a surround-view monitor, a head-up display, and front parking sensors. The standard highway assist is upgraded on the top-most trim, and smart park assist is added. With the standard Bluelink function, owners can load up seat heating and ventilation, as well as driver profiles, remotely.

As we've come to expect from family vehicles, the infotainment system in the Palisade is quite comprehensive. It centers around a 12.3-inch touchscreen that grants access to all the essentials, like wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, HD Radio, SiriusXM, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and navigation. A six-speaker sound system is standard, but this is upgraded to a 12-speaker Harman Kardon sound system from the Limited, along with an in-car intercom. There are also plenty of USB-C ports for charging, now that some of the older A ports have been converted. All infotainment settings can be saved to one of the multiple profiles and quickly accessed using the Bluelink system.
