2018 Hyundai Sonata Plug-In Hybrid Review

$33,250 - $38,850
Price Range (MSRP)

Featuring the standard Sonata’s fresh new face, the plug-in hybrid is another weapon in the hybridized Hyundai arsenal with which to battle Toyota, though its closest rival comes from sister brand Kia. The Sonata PHEV features the same 2.0-liter Atkinson four cylinder engine as the hybrid, but is paired with a 9.8kWh lithium-ion battery pack and electric motor generating a combined 202 horsepower through the automatic transmission. On level 2 charging, a full charge takes under two hours, and electric range is 27 miles. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard features, with optional extras including ventilated, power adjustable front seats, and adaptive cruise control. Pricing ranges from $33,250 to $38,850.
