2020 E-Pace Interior

The Jag's cabin is certainly an interesting place to be. It looks extremely attractive with plush leather upholstery coming standard in a variety of eye-catching hues. However, the presence of several hard plastic surfaces interrupts the otherwise-premium veneer. Still, there is a fair amount of passenger space, especially up front, with plenty of cargo space, too. And every trim level provides power-adjustable front seats as standard. The controls and infotainment are laid out for ease of access, with smartphone integration coming standard on the latter. There are a decent number of advanced driver-assistance features too, with more available on the upper trims.

Seating and Interior Space

There is a decent amount of passenger space inside the cabin of the Jag, but those up front certainly get the lion's share. Head- and legroom are more than ample for those in the front seats, and ten-way power seats come standard on the base model. The SE models get 14-way power front seats while the R-Dynamic trims get sport seats. The HSE gets 18-way power front seats, instead. Regardless of trim, rear passengers shouldn't lack for headroom, but legroom is a little less generous. Installing the optional sunroof barely impacts the available headroom. Overall visibility is pretty good, given the stubby dimensions of the SUV, but there are a variety of driver-assistance features to help you in a pinch. Getting in and out shouldn't pose a problem for those up front or in the back.

Interior Colors and Materials

There are certainly a lot of plush materials plastered around the interior of the E-Pace, but there are a fair number of hard surfaces, too, which counteract the otherwise premium feel of the cabin. The base model comes upholstered in leather, available in Ebony/Ebony or Light Oyster/Lunar. The Checkered Flag gets the same material, but the Ebony leather comes with unique red stitching. The R-Dynamic HSE gets standard Windsor leather that is available to the lower-tier R-Dynamic trims. This premium material is offered in Ebony/Ebony, Light Oyster/Ebony, Siena Tan/Ebony, Mars Red/Ebony, and Eclipse Ebony.

2020 E-Pace Trunk and Cargo Space

While it might not look particularly cavernous from the outside, the Jag is actually eminently practical in terms of storage capacity. With the rear seats in place, the trunk offers up an impressive 24.2 cubic feet of space. This is certainly more than enough for most daily tasks, such as grocery shopping, and you could even stow a fair amount of luggage for all five passengers without much trouble. However, if you still need more space, the rear seats can be folded down in a 60/40 split to free up a total of 52.7 cubic feet of space.

There is no shortage of small-item storage around the cabin, either. There is a standard passenger-side glove compartment, a spacious center console cubby box, as well as two front cupholders. Each door offers a spacious door pocket, and several of the bins around the cabin are lined with rubber mats to ensure the safety of your small items.

2020 E-Pace Infotainment and Features

Features

The Jag crossover is well-appointed in any configuration, with the base model equipped with cruise control, dual-zone climate control, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, and keyless entry. The S trims get ten-way power front seats, while the SE trims get 14-way power front seats with memory, and the HSE gets 18-way power front seats. The standard leather upholstery is also upgraded to Windsor leather on the HSE. The safety suite comprises a rearview camera, front and rear sonar, automatic emergency braking, and a driver condition monitor, which is expanded with adaptive cruise control, park assist, rear cross-traffic alert, and a surround-view camera on the SE, with blind-spot monitoring and high-speed automatic emergency braking reserved for the HSE.

Infotainment

The ten-inch touchscreen still supports Bluetooth capabilities, while Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard on every trim level this year. The standard sound system comprises six speakers that support AM/FM Radio playback, while SiriusXM is an optional add-on. Navigation and a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot are added to the suite on the SE, while the sound system is upgraded to an 11-speaker Meridian setup. To ensure your smart devices stay charged, there are two USB ports in the front, while the center console provides one of the two available 12-volt power outlets.
