2020 F-Pace Interior

The F-Pace may come with a high asking price, but it puts a good effort into backing the dollars up by cramming premium materials and modern technology into every corner. The base model isn't particularly eye-catching on the inside, but all of the elements used are solid and come together nicely. From the R-Sport trim upwards, the interior is plush and lends itself to images of true luxury, thanks to genuine leather upholstery, and the aggressive optional sport seats that make it hard to believe you're on the inside of an SUV. The cabin of the F-Pace, especially on upper trims is undeniably well put-together, but it may not be enough to beat rivals from Audi and BMW.

Seating and Interior Space

One of the primary reasons shoppers turn to luxury SUVs is that they prioritize space and comfort, so it's of paramount importance that contenders in this segment deliver. The inside of the F-Pace offers more than enough space to get by, and even taller adults will enjoy the rear seats. It offers less interior room than the Audi Q5, but makes up for it with exceptionally comfortable seats, both in the front and in the back. Premium and Prestige models get ten-way power-adjustable front seats with four-way lumbar support, and both Sport and S models get access to 18-way power-adjustable seats. The top of the range Portfolio trim level gets upgraded to 20-way power-adjustable seating. The gorgeous optional sport seats become available on R-Sport models and up for $2,465.

Interior Colors and Materials

A variety of different colors and materials are available throughout the F-Pace range, with upholstery and trim inserts improving greatly as we move upwards through models. Leatherette upholstery comes in two shades for the base and Premium models, and they include Ebony Luxtec and Latte Luxtec. Prestige models get access to genuine leather upholstery in shades of Ebony, Latte and Light Oyster, while upper trims get access to Ebony leather with Light Oyster stitching, Ebony with Pimento stitching and Ebony and a combination of Ebony and Light Oyster. The last option is Oyster Leather with Lime stitching. The top of the range Portfolio gets access to five exclusive shades of Windsor leather upholstery including Espresso and Sienna Tan. The optional sport seats are available in either Ebony with contrast stitching or a combination of Light Oyster and Ebony. Trim inserts only start to vary from the Prestige model that comes standard with Gloss Black, but makes Gloss Figured Ebony and Etched Aluminum trim inserts available for $310. Satin Ash Burr is added to the selection for the R-Sport, and Carbon Fiber trim inserts can be had for $1,300. The Portfolio only gets access to Etched Aluminum and Gloss Figured Ebony trim inserts.

2020 F-Pace Trunk and Cargo Space

Class-leading trunk and cargo space is offered by the F-Pace, and the figures speak for themselves. The trunk of the Jaguar offers 33.5 cubic feet of trunk space, which greatly outshines the Audi Q5's 25.1 cubic-foot offering. It's also significantly larger than the BMW's 28.7 cubes. The SUV is also very accommodating in a pinch, and when the seats are folded, a total of 63.5 cubic feet can be utilized for some quick hauling.

In-cabin storage is also pretty impressive, thanks to a decent-sized glovebox and deep center console. The door pockets are a little on the slim side, but that's a small flaw that can be overlooked thanks to the ample overall space that the SUV offers.

2020 F-Pace Infotainment and Features

Features

The F-Pace's list of standard-fitted indulgences is impressive on most models, but we can't ignore the absence of a digital instrument cluster as standard on R-Sport models that ask for nearly $60,000. It's disappointing, but we can't dwell on it forever. Base and Premium models come standard with a panoramic sunroof and dual-zone climate control as well as front seats that are ten-way power-adjustable and ambient lighting. The Prestige model adds keyless entry, push-button start, heated seats, and a heated steering wheel, while the R-Sport adds 18-way power-adjustable front seats. The 300 Sport adds a digital instrument cluster and the Portfolio seals the deal with the addition of a hands-free gesture tailgate, heated and ventilated front seats, electrically reclining rear seats and four-zone climate control. Standard safety features on Premium models include a rearview camera, cruise control, dynamic stability control, front and rear park sensors and lane keep assist as well as hill launch assist. The Prestige and R-Sport add traffic sign recognition and emergency brake assist, and the top of the range Portfolio shares the same safety features.

Infotainment

The infotainment suite hosted by the F-Pace is commendable, even at entry level. All models boast a ten-inch touchscreen that enables Apple CarPlay, Android Auto and HD Radio as well as Bluetooth streaming. Audio is brought to life via a 14-speaker Meridian sound system on all models except the Portfolio. Prestige models add a navigation system and a Wi-Fi hotspot, while the R-Sport gets access to SiriusXM functionality. Added to the 300 Sport is a start-up sequence with movement, dials and lighting. The inside of the Portfolio is slightly upgraded with the addition of a 20-speaker Meridian sound system and a head-up display.
