The 2022 Kia Niro EV is available in two trim levels, namely the EX and EX Premium. Both share the same electric motor producing 201 hp and 291 lb-ft of torque. Power is sent to the front wheels via a single-speed transmission.
The exterior of the Niro EV includes LED daytime running lights and 17-inch alloy wheels. Inside the car, both trim levels get power-adjustable front seats, climate control, and two front-mounted USB ports.
The EX offers a new 10.25-inch infotainment screen this year, complete with navigation, voice control, wireless phone charging, and an eight-speaker Harman Kardon audio system, now matching the system on the EX Premium. It also gains the wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay that it lacked last year. Active driver-assistance features include blind-spot monitoring, lane-change and lane-keep assist, as well as forward-collision warning, driver-attention assistance, and navigation-based adaptive cruise control with leading-vehicle departure warning and stop and go.
