The Kia Niro is available in the FE, LX, EX, S Touring, and Touring models. They all use a four-cylinder 1.6-liter engine connected to a six-speed automatic transmission and an electric motor which combine to make 139 hp. All the models are also front-wheel-drive so their performance is almost the same despite having different features. The range starts with the FE, which comes with dual-zone climate control and a seven-inch touchscreen with a rearview camera, AM/FM radio, USB and AUX ports, as well as Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. The LX adds a rear center armrest with cupholders, roof rails, and keyless ignition. Going higher is the EX which adds heated front seats, leather and cloth upholstery, as well as blind-spot detection, rear cross traffic alert and lane change assist. Above the EX is the S Touring, which adds the exclusive Platinum Graphite paint, Harman Kardon premium audio system, and an eight-inch touchscreen with onboard navigation. The Touring is the top of the range model which has the features of all the other models as well as features like a sunroof, wireless charger, ventilated front seats, lane keeping assist, and forward collision warning system.
With five available trims, Kia still gives the availability of three options packages on certain trims to bridge the gaps in the line-up.
The LX Advanced Technology Package is available for the LX only at a price of $1,450, and includes autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian detection, forward collision warning, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel and shift lever.
The EX Advanced Technology Package is available on the EX only and includes adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, ten-way power-adjustable driver's seat, and forward collision warning system, as well as ten-way power driver's seat adjustment for a price of $1,950.
There's also the EX Premium Package available with the EX trim, which for $5,300 includes a power sunroof, HID headlights, leather upholstery, a wireless charger, ventilated front seats, a heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise control, lane keep assist, an eight-inch touchscreen with onboard navigation and a Harman Kardon premium audio system.
