The Rio 5-door is an entry-level car that serves a fundamental purpose. Still, Kia adds a lot to keep it from feeling cheap. The updated exterior looks sportier, and therefore nicer than ever before. The interior is dominated by the new eight-inch touchscreen interface, which comes with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This will be a unique selling point in this segment and one which young people, in particular, will appreciate. Otherwise, it’s quite spartan, with the air conditioning, seats, and steering column all being manually-adjustable. But that’s to be expected considering the price.
