The Kia Rio 5-Door range is made up solely of the S trim. The simplified lineup makes use of a single engine/gearbox combination, with a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a continuously variable automatic transmission. On the exterior, base features include halogen headlights, body-color power, heated side-view mirrors, solar control glass, and a high-mounted rear spoiler. LED headlights and positioning lights are available within the S Technology Package, along with an upgraded 3.5-inch supervision meter cluster, high line tire-pressure monitoring system, and forward-collision warning. Remote keyless access is standard along with full power windows and door locks, unfortunately, the multi-function steering wheel is mounted to a tilt-only column, the driver’s seat is only six-way manually-adjustable, and there’s only a day/night rearview mirror. The seats are upholstered in a mid-grade Tricot and woven cloth trim.
