2023 Kia Sorento Trims & Specs

A host of trims make up the Kia Sorento line, with the lower trims using the base 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and the higher trims adding a turbo for extra spice. Outputs for the base engine are 191 horsepower with 181 lb-ft of torque, with the turbo version boosting those figures to 281 hp and 311 lb-ft. Both engines can be had with either FWD or AWD and eight-speed transmissions are fitted to all derivatives. The non-turbo engine uses a torque-converter automatic transmission, while the turbo versions exchange this for a dual-clutch gearbox. Hybrid variants are also on offer, but those are reviewed separately.

Equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels and LED headlights, the base model is sporty but comfortable to drive. It gets the basics in comfort and convenience, including a six-way manually-adjustable driver's seat, remote keyless entry, and manual air conditioning. The safety suite is more impressive, comprising forward collision warning with emergency braking and pedestrian detection, lane-keep assist, blind-spot collision avoidance, rear cross-traffic collision avoidance, lane departure warning, and a driver attention system. An eight-inch touchscreen comes standard with wireless smartphone integration and a six-speaker sound system.

As you progress through the trim levels, the following features are unlocked: power-adjustable front seats, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, dual-zone climate control, and a panoramic sunroof. More advanced safety tech like front and rear parking sensors and a surround-view camera are added as you upgrade. A larger 10.25-inch infotainment touchscreen is standard from the S variant upwards, while a 12-speaker Bose sound system comes in at SX Prestige level.
