The Regera is a standalone model in Koenigsegg’s lineup, but builds on what the team learned and achieved with the Agera and Agera RS. Thus, Christian Von Koenigsegg has created a car that is even quicker. The same 5.0-liter V8 is sitting in the middle of the car, but with smaller turbos for better throttle response and quicker spool. Where the Regera properly breaks the mold is with its trifecta of electric motors and the new Koenigsegg Direct Drive system that makes a conventional gearbox redundant. In total, the Regera produces 1,489 hp and 1,475 lb-ft of torque, and its slippery body and stunning carbon-ceramic brakes help it achieve a world record: 0-249-0 mph in under 32 seconds. Still, it’s comfy too, with memory foam in the carbon seats, which are heated and upholstered in quilted leather. A rare feature in this segment, the Regera even features wireless Apple CarPlay.
