A safety review of the Land Rover Discovery Sport has not been conducted by the IIHS or the NHTSA, but this doesn't mean that this isn't a safe vehicle. It comes with all the modern safety features, so it should hold up quite well in crash tests.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
Both models are well-stocked with safety features. This includes basics like tire pressure monitoring, dynamic stability control, electronic traction control, a rearview camera, and no less than seven airbags.
Beyond this, the Discovery Sport comes with emergency braking, blind-spot assist, a 3D surround-view camera system, lane-keep assist, rear traffic monitoring, traffic sign recognition, an adaptive speed limiter, front/rear parking sensors, driver condition monitoring, and adaptive cruise control.
This is still a Land Rover, so the Discovery Sport is loaded with gear to make off-roading safer. This list includes hill launch assist, hill descent control, and all-terrain response control.

You have to go all the way back to the 2020 model to find the last J.D. Power rating for the Discovery Sport, and the news here wasn't good as that model only managed an overall rating of 68 out of 100 and 62/100 for quality and reliability, way below the ratings of most competitors. In general, the reliability reputation of the Land Rover Discovery Sport is nothing to threaten a Lexus, but to be fair, it hasn't faced many recalls in recent years.
2024 models are new, and 2022 and 2023 models have one recall for seatbelt pretensioner issues. 2021 models also had issues with the seatbelt retractor.
There is nothing stellar about the warranty coverage for the 2024 Land Rover Discovery Sport. It runs for four years or 50,000 miles, but the Land Rover lacks the complimentary scheduled maintenance of competitors like BMW.
Local authorities have not yet had the opportunity to evaluate the Discovery Sport, but it does come with many standard safety features.
With seven airbags - including a knee airbag for the driver - the Discovery Sport provides the expected level of protection for occupants in a crash.
