2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport Review: An Ivory Fist In A Garden Glove
If you're looking for exclusivity and luxury, you've come to the right place. Sure, competitors such as the BMW X5 and Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class are newer, but the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport still boasts an attractive design, inside and out, a powerful range of motors, excellent off-road capability, and excellent road manners. The interior of the Range Rover Sport is as plush as they get, and the 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine with mild-hybrid tech or 5.0-liter supercharged V8 with up to 567 horsepower offer more than enough go for everyday driving duties. On the downside, the infotainment system is a bit unintuitive, and some competitors offer more cargo space. With a base price of $68,650, this SUV isn't the cheapest around, but it is one of the best midsize luxury SUVs you can drive.

Verdict: Is the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport A Good SUV?
Let's be honest, most US buyers will acquire the Range Rover Sport for its good looks and to be able to use #rangerover on their Instagram posts, but that doesn't detract from the fact that this is a very capable and overall impressive car. From the outside, the vehicle looks grand and fits the style icon image. On the inside, you'll struggle to find a more luxurious interior, and it ties in perfectly with the Range Rover Sport's beautiful on-road driving dynamics. What's more is this SUV, like the rest of the Land Rover family, performs impeccably off-road. There's something for everyone under the hood, and we were most impressed by the smooth turbodiesel engine and insane supercharged V8. Some shortcomings include a cramped optional third row, unintuitive infotainment system, and a general lack of modern driver assistance systems as standard. There's also the question of reliability, but we wouldn't worry too much about that as most owners don't keep their Range Rovers long term, and reliability is slated to be improving. It is priced relatively high, but we think it's worth the money.
What Land Rover Range Rover Sport Model Should I Buy?
You can't really go wrong with any of the choices described in our review of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport; all models provide enough standard equipment to make daily driving pleasurable, and any engine you choose has enough grunt to spare. If we were the ones doing the buying, we'd have to go for the HST MHEV. This is the more powerful of the mild-hybrid range and packs a serious 395 hp and 406 lb-ft from its 3.0-liter turbocharged inline-six engine. The HST MHEV also benefits from some added premium features such as a 19-speaker Meridian sound system and a power-sliding moonroof. We would add the Drive Pro Pack, which includes systems such as high-speed emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and blind-spot assist to address the lack of driver assistance features. The total price of the 2020 Land Rover Range Rover Sport SUV in this spec, you ask? A cool $87,5490, including destination fees.
