The interior of the Land Rover Range Rover took another step up in style, tech, comfort and the quality of the materials when the fifth generation launched last year. It's extremely well insulated from extraneous noises as well and, once you're ensconced inside the Rangey, very little noise and vibration reach the occupants. Superbly finished natural materials abound, but sustainable materials are available as well. The interior can be decked out in various styles and colors, with themes similar to the exterior ones available inside as well. The SV brings with it a host of additional customization options. The style is minimalist, with very few buttons on the dashboard, save for the ones for the climate control, and the center stack is dominated by a large landscape-style touchscreen display, situated beneath a discreet horizontal vent bar. The technology is not always easy to master - and there's a lot of it. The climate control also seems to struggle a little to cope on hot days, especially with a car full of people.
The seats of the Land Rover Range Rover are supremely comfortable and even the base SE trim's front seats get 20-way power adjustment and heating, while the second row is heated as well. Interior space is abundant and besides a minimum of 39.2 inches of headroom all around, the second row has an ample 40.4 inches of legroom available. The P400 and P530 SE trims, as well as the Autobiography, are available with a long wheelbase and seating for seven, courtesy of an optional third row. The last row is surprisingly comfortable for people of shorter stature or children, but taller adults need not apply, as both head- and legroom weigh in with a figure of 35.8 inches each - enough for legs but not enough for tall people's heads.
Autobiography trims have 24-way heated, ventilated, and massaging front seats and, besides the seven-seat option, the LWB Autobiography is also offered in a five-seater format with Executive Class Comfort rear seats that can accommodate three passengers. It offers a massive 48 inches of legroom, because the second row is placed around seven inches farther back due to the lack of a third row, resulting in limo-like space. Because of the gentle downward slope of the roofline and the location of the rear seat in this model, there's a bit less headroom, but the 38.5-inch figure is still enough, even for tall people. The LWB SV is only offered with this luxury five-seater arrangement. Access through the tall, square doors is very easy.

Perforated Windsor leather upholstery is standard and there is a choice of three standard interior colors for the Land Rover Range Rover SE trim in either SWB or seven-seater LWB: Ebony (black) with an Ebony interior, Caraway/Caraway (brown), and Perlino/Perlino (beige). The top of the dashboard remains black and only the lower dashboard adopts the interior color. Alternatively, the Ebony seats can be combined with a Perlino interior at no additional cost. Ecru (dark beige) is also available at no cost, and comes with a two-tone Ebony/Ecru headlining and Ecru interior - but only in the SWB five-seater. The standard headlining is Ebony/Perlino, but you can choose a one-color headlining in either color, although it will cost you $400 extra. The standard no-cost trim is wood in Natural Brown Walnut veneer, but Natural Black Birch veneer and Gloss Grand Black veneer are available for $1,300 each.
The SE's same three standard colors are available for the Autobiography five-seaters in both SWB and LWB, but the upholstery is upgraded to semi-aniline leather. Two optional interior color schemes are available as well - the same Ebony/Perlino as the base SE, or a stunning maroon Deep Garnet for both the seats and interior. As in the case of the SE, the seven-seater LWB Autobiography gets access to the Ebony/Perlino alternative option only. The standard headlining is Ebony/Perlino leather, but a single-color headlining in either shade can be had at no extra cost. Alternatively, the Autobiography has access to three no-cost Technical Textile headlinings in exactly the same color choices. The standard trim in the Autobiography is SV Bespoke Natural Brown Walnut veneer but alternatively, any of the SE's options are available here, with only the Natural Black Birch veneer costing anything extra at $1,300.
The SV is again an entity unto its own, with even higher quality SV semi-aniline leather upholstery used, and the same options for both the SWB and LWB. The familiar no-cost Ebony/Ebony and Perlino/Perlino interiors are available, but they are joined by SV-specific choices, all at extra cost. The additional choices are only available as part of two optional interior themes. The SV Serenity theme adds $3,300 and comes with near-aniline leather on the front seats, semi-aniline leather on the rear seats, and one interior color scheme, namely Caraway/Perlino. In the SV, the dashtop is no longer black but adopts the chosen interior color. The other available theme is SV Intrepid, also costing $3,300, and coming with two interior options - Ultrafabric upholstery in Light Cloud (front seats) and Cinder Grey (rear seats) with a Cinder Grey interior, or an Ebony/Ebony interior using semi-aniline leather upholstery. Natural Cream Ash Burr veneer trim is used inside, with no-cost Natural Black Birch and Natural Dark Linear wenge veneers optional, or the extra-cost Satin White mosaic ceramic ($2,640), Natural Dark Linear wenge veneer with a mosaic metal inlay, Natural Light Linear wenge with mosaic marquetry, or Black anodized metal, all at $1,350.
In all trims, the steering wheel is trimmed in soft-grain leather but can be exchanged for an SV Bespoke wood-and-leather steering wheel for $850.
In SWB five-seat format, the Land Rover Range Rover's trunk space behind the second row is an ample 40.7 cubic feet. The trunk volume can be further expanded to 83.5 cubes by folding down the second row. The LWB seven-seater has a disappointingly small luggage compartment of only 8.7 cubes behind the third row, quite a bit smaller than the Mercedes GLS' 17.4 cubes. It expands to 43.1 cubes behind the second row and 92.9 cubes behind the first row. The trunk space of the LWB five-seater Range Rovers virtually matches that of the SWB five-seaters and comes to 40.9 cubic feet because the additional length is given to the second-row passengers. With the second row folded, it offers a maximum of 92.8 cubic feet.

Being a Range Rover that starts at well over $100k, even the base SE has a long list of standard features. It comes with a sliding panoramic roof, gesture-controlled power liftgate, soft-close doors, keyless entry and push-button start, powered and heated front and rear seats, three-zone climate control, rear privacy glass, an electrically tilting/telescoping steering column, a 13.7-inch digital gauge cluster, and an entire suite of driver-assistance features that includes adaptive cruise control, a surround-view camera system, lane-keep assist, and traffic-sign recognition. Higher trims add features such as a camera-based digital rearview mirror, ventilation for the front and rear seats, massaging front seats, a heated steering wheel, upgraded audio systems, a rear-seat entertainment system, a refrigerator, and power-closing doors. The SV is also highly customizable.
The infotainment system is Land Rover's Pivi Pro setup with a 13.1-inch landscape touchscreen, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Wi-Fi, voice controls, Bluetooth audio streaming, SiriusXM, HD Radio, an all-terrain information display, and a wireless charging pad with a signal booster. Pivi Pro controls a 15-speaker Meridian audio system. In the Autobiography trims, the audio system is upgraded to a 35-speaker Meridian setup and a rear-seat entertainment system is added, incorporating twin 11.4-inch touchscreens, two high-power USB ports, two HDMI ports, and two pairs of Bluetooth headphones. In the SV, the rear-seat entertainment system is upgraded further with the fitment of twin 13.1-inch high-definition screens that offer screen mirroring and the ability to connect a console.
The trunk of the SWB five-seater Range Rover can accommodate 40.7 cubic feet of luggage behind the second row and 83.5 cubes behind the first row, and the LWB five-seater's corresponding figures are 40.9 and 92.8 cubic feet. The LWB seven-seaters have 8.7, 43.1, and 92.9 cubic feet behind the third, second, and first rows, respectively.
All the SWB Range Rovers are two-row five-seaters. The LWB Range Rovers are available with a third row up to the Autobiography level and can accommodate seven passengers. The LWB SV is only available as a five-seater with 48 inches of rear legroom; this option is also available for the LWB Autobiography.
