It may be the entry-level offering, but the IS 300 features plenty of toys and safety equipment. All models receive the comprehensive Lexus Safety System+ 2.5, including a pre-collision system (with pedestrian and daytime bicyclist detection), radar-guided cruise control, road sign assist, and lane departure warning. 10 airbags also form part of the package.

The turbocharged four-pot here is the most frugal one in the V6-dominated range. But there’s nothing parsimonious about the standard features - take a seat in the NuLuxe-trimmed leather seats and you’ll find plenty of equipment to occupy yourself with.

Eight-way power-adjustable seats, dual-zone climate control, keyless entry (with push-button start/stop), 18-inch wheels, and an eight-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Amazon Alexa compatibility is standard. The standard 10-speaker Pioneer audio system is also a welcome addition, although one can choose to opt for the fancier 17-speaker Mark Levinson sound system. Naturally, a rearview camera is standard, too.
