As is so often the case with luxury vehicles, the base RX is not basic at all. The standard safety system offers almost everything you could ever need, and many features that other automakers expect you to pay extra for. Among these, you’ll find lane departure warning, lane tracing assist, pre-collision warning with pedestrian detection, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert. Similarly, the infotainment suite leaves very little room for upgrades, with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Amazon Alexa, Bluetooth, HD Radio, and SiriusXM all included part and parcel. Only the nine-speaker sound system seems lacking when you consider the available options.
