There’s a good case to be made for the base model. It uses the same 2.0-liter engine as the rest of the non-hybrid range, so it has similar performance figures. Since Lexus adds a lot of kit as standard, there’s no reason to go any higher up the range if you can’t afford it. It has a generous amount of luxury kit, as well as advanced driver-assistance features. Blind-spot assist and rear cross-traffic alert are standard, as well as forward-collision avoidance and pedestrian detection. Add in the dual-zone climate control, a decent infotainment system, dual-zone climate control, and eight-way power-adjustable seats, and you have all the car you need and more.
