Neither the NHTSA nor the IIHS had had the opportunity to review the Lucid Air. Given the attention to detail, we have no doubt this car will fare well in case of an accident, and we expect crash testing to be completed in due course once production fully ramps up.
NHTSA safety ratings are not available at this time.
In addition to the usual standard safety features like ABS brakes, traction and stability control, eight airbags (dual front, front side, side curtain, and dual front knee airbags), laminated glass for the glass roof, and a reverse camera, the Air comes standard with DreamDrive.
Lucid can update the driver assistance features via over-the-air updates, but for the moment, DreamDrive comes standard with blind-spot monitoring with a dedicated blind-spot camera, rear cross-traffic alert, lane keep assist, parking sensors, adaptive cruise control, attention warning, and an automated parking system. Its 32 sensors, camera, radar, LiDAR, and ultrasonic tech are said to be capable of Level 3 autonomy.

The 2022 Air was recalled four times, for failing snap ring on the front strut damper, a disabled display screen, a loss of power from the drive motors, and a detaching front tow-eye bracket. So far, only the loss of drive power also carries over to the 2023 model.
As for warranty coverage, you get a four-year/50,000-mile basic warranty, 8-year/100,000-mile powertrain and battery warranty, 10-year/unlimited-mileage corrosion warranty, and five-year/60,000-mile supplemental restraint warranty.
