A single trim comprises the Mazda CX-3 range for 2021. The Sport is powered but a 2.0-liter four-cylinder mated to a six-speed automatic gearbox. This setup develops 148 hp and 146 lb-ft, but you do get to choose whether this is sent to just the front wheels or all four, as both drivetrains are available.
Since there are no upper trims to compete with, calling the Sport a base model seems moot. That said, it does come quite well equipped for the relatively low $20k price tag. These features include 16-inch alloy wheels, LED head- and taillights, and daytime running lights. Cloth-trimmed seats fill the cabin, while soft-touch materials adorn the dash and panels. Keyless entry, push-button start, cruise control, and automatic climate control come standard, along with Mazda’s i-Activsense safety suite. The seven-inch touchscreen interface grants access to AM/FM Radio, Bluetooth, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto, and it comes paired with a six-speaker sound system.
