Safety reviews for the Mazda CUV are superb. The NHTSA gives the Mazda CX-30 a safety rating of five stars overall, and only the rollover crash test returned a less than perfect score of four stars. Similarly, the IIHS awarded the Mazda CX-30 a crash safety rating of Good in every single category, as well as its coveted Top Safety Pick status. It is worth mentioning that this only applies to models equipped with the top-tier headlights.
Even the base model gets a fair number of standard safety features, which explains the good crash test results for the Mazda CX-30. Naturally, it has ABS, EBD, traction and stability control, as well as a set of eight airbags: dual front, front side, front knee, and side curtain. More advanced safety features on the Mazda CX-30 include a rearview camera, smart brake support, driver attention alert, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. Moving up through trim levels adds blind-spot monitoring, rear cross-traffic alert, traffic sign recognition, traffic jam assist, and an active driving display. At the top-tier, you are offered the option of adding a surround-view camera.
