The Mercedes-AMG E53 coupe and convertible don't have multiple trims like the lesser E450 we review separately, as there is no RWD option. The 4Matic+ AWD system is utilized to best put down the 429 hp and 384 lb-ft of torque of the 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine with mild hybrid assistance. A smooth nine-speed automatic transmission is standard. Performance specs for the Mercedes-AMG E53 coupe are marginally better than for the convertible.
As standard, the E53 enjoys comprehensive specifications like 19-inch wheels, a panorama roof, all-LED exterior lighting, and an electronic trunk closer. Dual 12.3-inch color displays are equipped to the interior, through which users can access Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, a 13-speaker Burmester sound system, and navigation. Luxury is not in short supply as Nappa leather upholstery is standard, along with power-adjustable and heated front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a heated steering wheel.
There may not be multiple trim levels or configurations, but there are enough options. The Driver Assistance Package is an option we'd recommend as it adds adaptive cruise control and many other driver-assistance features. Ventilated front seats and soft-close doors are also available.
