There's just this one trim level to choose from, with Mercedes-AMG deciding not to offer the non-S variant of the E63 in the USA. This sedan is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 pushing out 603 hp and 627 lb-ft of torque. It's mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission. To keep things in control, the E63 S comes standard with Merc's 4Matic+ AWD system tuned by AMG. You can completely disengage the front axle and activate drift mode, but you better be prepared for a wild ride.
Standard luxuries include dual-zone climate control, Nappa leather seats, power-adjustable front seats with heating and cooling, dual 12.3-inch displays, MBUX, navigation, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capabilities, and a 13-speaker Burmester sound system. A limited number of models will get access to the Final Edition package with a unique exterior paint color and performance seats.
On the styling side, there are two AMG Exterior Carbon Fiber packages to choose from. Package 1 costs $2,950, while Package 2 is less at $1,750. It essentially adds some carbon fiber exterior accents, like side mirror caps and side sills. The AMG Night Package is priced at $750, while a dark-tinted grille goes for $450.
On the inside, there's more to be had, including the AMG head-up display for $1,100, a 23-speaker Burmester sound system at $4,550, or augmented video navigation at $350. Active multicontour seats are priced at $1,320, heated rear seats at $580, and soft-close doors cost $550. For $1,950, the Driver Assistance Package will add 15 features to the spec sheet, including active steering, blind spot assist, lane change assist, andmore.
Lastly, those who take performance seriously might want to consider the ceramic composite braking system, which is pricy at $8,950 but will pay dividends if you see the track regularly.
