Using a detuned version of the powertrain from the GT 53, the GT 43 forms a new baseline for AMG’s in-house developed four-door coupe. It still has the EQ Boost system, which is marketing speak for mild-hybrid assistance filling the gaps in the powerband and helping with efficiency. That’s why this big four-door can get to 60 mph in less than five seconds. On the inside, it has dual 12.3-inch displays. One is the digital instrument cluster, while the other is dedicated to infotainment. Merc’s new MBUX operating system is much smoother than the old Comand interface, but it does take some time to get used to. A Burmester surround-sound system is standard, as are heated leatherette upholstered seats, power adjustment for the front perches, and dual-zone climate control.
