We usually wouldn’t recommend going for the AWD option unless you live in a cold-weather state. In this case, you might as well go for it. While the 4MATIC shares all the same features as the RWD model, it comes with improved straight-line performance, and it doesn’t have a drastic effect on fuel consumption. The AWD system is a less advanced version of the one used in high-performance AMG products, however. It’s a basic AWD system to improve grip and not the full-on torque vectoring system available elsewhere. Still, it fits in perfectly with the overall feel of the car, which is far more biased toward comfort.
