Luxury performance coupes may not be in as much high demand, but that hasn’t stopped Mercedes from giving the E-Class Coupe a huge update for the 2021 model year. Exterior enhancements such as redesigned headlights and taillights, and a new diamond grille help make the luxury coupe look more refined and match the design language of other new Mercedes models. The luxurious interior has also been upgraded with the latest MBUX infotainment system featuring two large 12.3-inch screens creating a widescreen cockpit.
Power is provided by an in-line six-cylinder engine paired with an integrated starter generator and a 48-volt system producing 362 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque, sent through a nine-speed automatic transmission. This output can be increased by an extra 21 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque for a short time thanks to Mercedes’ EQ Boost. 0-62 mph times haven’t been announced yet, but both the 2021 E450 and E450 4Matic will max out at an electronically limited 130 mph. Pricing details will be confirmed at a later date when the 2021 Mercedes E-Class Coupe goes on sale later this year.
