Exuding sophistication, the gently updated exterior design of the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class should find favor with most of the company's clientele. It hasn't changed much compared to its predecessor, but the details are different once you look more closely. There are restyled LED headlights in front, and optional Digital Light headlights can be equipped as an optional extra. These headlights now have a top section that connects to the new grille with its chrome surround, and the available AMG Line specification changes the design of the grille and introduces a Mercedes-Benz pattern.
The standard 18-inch 10-spoke alloy wheels are rather plain-looking, but several optional wheel designs can be selected at up to 20 inches in size. At the rear, there are longer and sleeker taillight clusters that better emphasize the SUV's width. Lower down are chrome-look tailpipes on either side of the body.
A power liftgate with hands-free access and power-folding side mirrors are standard, while there are many options like a panorama roof, heat and noise-insulating glass, and two AMG Line packages that give the exterior a much sportier appearance.
The new GLC is 2.4 inches longer than its predecessor and sits 0.16 inches lower, while the track widths have also increased. The 74.4-inch width (without the mirrors), however, remains the same as before. Other dimensions for the Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class include a length of 185.7 inches, a wheelbase of 113.1 inches, and a height of 64.6 inches.
The GLC 300 has a curb weight of 4,167 pounds, and the 4Matic model comes in at 4,277 lbs. Both previous comparable models came in under 4,000 lbs, so the new car is heavier. This explains its similar performance despite an increase in torque.

There are 11 exterior colors in the 2023 Mercedes-Benz GLC-Class SUV's palette, and most are quite demure - just as many Mercedes fans prefer it. Only Polar White and Black won't cost anything extra, while $750 unlocks metallics like Obsidian Black, Graphite Grey, Mojave Silver, Nautical Blue, Cirrus Silver, Starling Blue, and Selenite Grey. For $1,750, Manufaktur Diamond White Metallic and Manufaktur Cardinal Red Metallic are the most premium shades. Gloss Black exterior accents can be added via the AMG Line with its Night Package upgrade.
This is entirely subjective, but the GLC-Class does look quite good in black or grey with the AMG Line and Night Package, whereas Starling Blue and Cardinal Red are the most vibrant colors.
At $1,750 each, the two Manufaktur colors - Diamond White Metallic and Cardinal Red Metallic - are the priciest.
18-inch wheels are standard on the GLC 300, but larger 19- or 20-inch wheels in different designs are available.
