GLE 350, GLE 350 4Matic, GLE 450 4Matic, and GLE 580 4Matic are the four Mercedes GLE-Class SUV trims, and there are three available engine choices with varying specs. The 350 models use a turbocharged 2.0-liter inline-four with 255 hp and 273 lb-ft of torque. They're identical, save for the drivetrain configuration - the 4Matic has an AWD system and is $2,500 more expensive. The GLE 450 4Matic gets a turbocharged 3.0-liter inline six-cylinder with mild-hybrid assistance to produce 362 hp and 369 lb-ft of torque, while the GLE 580 is equipped with a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine with 483 hp and 516 lb-ft of torque. All models pair their engines with a nine-speed automatic transmission and share similar standard features.

All trim levels get the same MBUX infotainment system, basic safety suite, and most luxury features being standard, such as heated power front seats, dual-zone climate control, and a power sunroof. The base 350s can only be had with the standard suspension, with AirMatic air suspension available on the 450 and standard on the 580. In terms of their appearance and exterior specifications, the base trims all run on 19-inch alloys, while the GLE 580 stands out for its 20-inch wheels and AMG Line exterior package - an option on the other trims. Options include four-zone climate control, leather upholstery (standard on the GLE 580), ventilated front seats, and heated rear seats.
