The Cooper S is quite a bit different from the standard Cooper, particularly when it comes to performance. This is due to the significantly stronger turbo four-pot coming standard, but also the stiffer suspension that improves handling. However, combined with the larger 18-inch alloy wheels, the firmer ride means a sacrifice in comfort, which is one of the Countryman’s strengths. The S models also get LED headlights and fog lights, as of the new year, and the front seats are replaced with better-bolstered sport seats. If style is more important to you, then 19-inch alloy wheels are available, too.
