The Mini John Cooper Works Convertible takes a seat at the top of the Mini Convertible range, with an uprated sports suspension, Brembo brakes, and aggressive styling cues inspired by decades of JCW-badged performance Minis. Matching the go to the show is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine developing 228 horsepower paired to an eight-speed automatic gearbox and a front-wheel-drive system.
Specification varies depending on which of the three sub-trims you opt for (Classic, Signature, or Iconic) but LED headlights, JCW sports seats, LED Union Jack taillights, and a power-retractable soft-top roof are standard across the lineup. 17-inch alloy wheels and Dinamica/cloth upholstery are standard on the lower sub-trims with heated seats added at Signature level and 18-inch alloys and leather upholstery included on the Iconic. Infotainment follows suit, with a basic 6.5-inch screen and six speakers on the Classic, while upper sub-trims receive an 8.8-inch screen with Apple CarPlay functionality and the option of a Harman Kardon sound system. New for 2020, Mini includes forward collision warning and automatic emergency braking as part of the Active Driving Assistant, adding an extra layer of safety to the hottest Mini Convertible available.
