Under the hood, the Nissan Sentra's specs are the same across the board and all trim levels get a 149-hp naturally aspirated 2.0-liter engine, front-wheel drive, and a CVT automatic. Unlike most rivals, no other configurations are available, either with more power or with a hybrid option, so in terms of power and performance, its specifications fall short of the competition. The standard safety spec is impressive though, with all Nissan Sentra trims coming with Nissan Safety Shield 360 that includes forward-collision warning, pedestrian detection, automatic forward and reverse emergency braking, rear parking sensors, lane-departure warning, lane tracing, automatic high beans, driver-alertness monitoring, blind-spot monitoring, and rear cross-traffic alert.
The S has 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, (automatic) halogen headlights, manual air-conditioning, power accessories, push-button start, cloth upholstery, manual seat adjustment, and a seven-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth audio streaming, one USB port, an auxiliary input jack, and a four-speaker audio system. More equipment is added as you go up the ranks, such as adaptive cruise control, a bigger touchscreen, upgraded audio systems, alloy wheels, dual-zone climate control, and a leather-trimmed steering wheel. Various package options are offered and extra-cost features include a power driver's seat, heated front seats, remote start, a surround-view monitor, and a power glass moonroof.
The first is the All-Weather package at $590 for the SV which adds dual-zone climate control, heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, and remote engine start. The SV's $1,860 Premium package adds a decent helping of elegance, as it includes quilted leather seats, a power moonroof, a six-way power-adjustable driver's seat with lumbar adjustment, a rear-seat armrest, and 17-inch alloys. The Premium Package for the SR trim goes for $2,470. Instead of leather seats, it comes with Prima-Tex seats with orange stitching, heated front seats and steering wheel, thin projector LED headlights, a power moonroof, an intelligent surround-view monitor, a Wi-Fi hotspot, and an eight-speaker Bose premium sound system, to name just a few. The $695 Midnight Edition package is offered on the SR only and is purely a cosmetic package, blacking out the 18-inch alloys, V-Motion grille, badging, and rear spoiler, and adding a black rear diffuser panel.
