2023 718 Spyder Interior

The interior space of the Porsche 718 Spyder isn't stark, it's purposeful. Porsche hasn't bothered to add the kind of luxuries you'd find in, say, a BMW Z4; instead, you get a focused interior that places all the essential controls in close reach of the driver. There's no fancy ambient lighting or massage seats - you get a steering wheel, a shifter, pedals, and a touchscreen mounted in the dashboard. Still, the interior features premium materials and is expertly assembled. Visibility out the front is good but diminishes in the rear with the roof up. Entering and exiting the cabin of the 2023 Porsche 718 Spyder can also be an issue as the car sits rather low to the ground.

Seating and Interior Space

There's seating for two lucky passengers in the Porsche 718 Spyder's cabin. Both passengers are hugged by 2-way power-adjustable sport bucket seats with elevated side bolsters. These seats feature a cool little Spyder logo for added effect. Comfort is exceptional, especially when driving with vigor; these seats will keep you in place even when things get seriously hairy. Porsche also offers adaptive sport seats with 18-way adjustability or full bucket seats for the hardcore track hero. 3D-Printed Bodyform buckets are available for the driver with soft, medium, or hard cushioning, too. Legroom is ample for larger adults, but getting in and out of those narrow buckets can be arduous for some. Heated seats and a heated steering wheel are available as extras.

Interior Colors and Materials

The standard seats in the 2023 Porsche 718 Spyder feature center panels in Race-Tex, and side bolsters and headrests in leather. The steering wheel is wrapped in Black Race-Tex material, as are the door grab handles, door panel armrests, and center console storage compartment lid. Black is the standard fare, while the Spyder Classic Interior in Red/Black can be had by package upgrade. Contrast stitching in yellow, red, or silver is available with a $2,160 step up to a leather/race tex interior. And for a fee, you can have the dashboard, steering column, and sun visors wrapped in leather, too.

In the 718 Spyder, buyers can also option seatbelts in an array of exterior-complementing colors, from Python Green to Bordeaux Red. The instrument cluster can also be tweaked to match at an additional cost. Lastly, Porsche offers a range of carbon fiber and brushed aluminum trim options for the cabin, too.

2023 718 Spyder Trunk and Cargo Space

The 2023 Porsche 718 Spyder is not what you'd call a practical vehicle. This car was built to be driven hard and not much more. If you're in a pinch and you desperately have to go on a grocery run, the 718 Spyder will allow you to carry a few bags. The front luggage compartment offers a whole 5.2 cubic feet of space, while the rear compartment can only muster 4.2 cubes. That's about all the space you need for a weekend getaway for two. The interior features a glovebox, two door pockets, clothes hooks on the seat backrests, and two cup holders.

2023 718 Spyder Infotainment and Features

Features

Porsche has kept the features list short so as not to distract the driver from the primary task at hand: driving. As such, you only get the bare essentials necessary to classify the 718 Spyder as a modern sports car. Mentionable features include cruise control, ParkAssist rear with reversing a camera, a HomeLink programmable garage door opener, a single-zone air-conditioning system, power sport bucket seats, and a high-resolution 4.6-inch color driver display. Note the lack of any sort of modern driver assistance systems. Optional extras include two-zone automatic climate control, heated seats, a heated steering wheel, and even a fire extinguisher.

Infotainment

At the center of the 718 Spyder's dashboard nestles a seven-inch touchscreen display that features Bluetooth streaming, SiriusXM satellite radio with a three-month Platinum subscription, HD Radio, a CD/DVD drive, a single USB port, and two SD card slots. Wired Apple CarPlay is included. Sound is channeled through a six-speaker sound system with 110 watts of power as standard, but there are two upgrade options: a ten-speaker Bose surround sound system, or a 12-speaker High-End Burmester setup. For those that are purely in it for the engine noise, Porsche offers to eliminate the infotainment system altogether.
