Introduced last year, the 2021 Porsche 718 Spyder continues to impress as a drop-top that outhandles just about anything else out there. It’s quick, too, with Porsche’s naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six sending its 414 hp to the rear wheels. This year, an optional seven-speed PDK dual-clutch gearbox joins the standard six-speed manual. Porsche Torque Vectoring with a mechanically locking rear differential is standard. Outside, a lightweight fabric roof keeps the weight down, and the Spyder gets 20-inch wheels, red brake calipers, distinctive streamliners, and an auto-deploying rear wing.
The simple, driver-focused cabin features sports seats in a mix of Alcantara and leather. Driver aids include cruise control, a backup camera, and rear parking sensors. A six-speaker sound system is linked to an infotainment setup that includes both SiriusXM satellite radio and HD Radio.
