2023 911 Dakar Exterior
With the classic 911 silhouette as a base, the beefed-up exterior of the Porsche 911 Dakar shines aesthetically. It's got a playfulness to its appearance that makes it immediately distinguishable from a regular 911, but Porsche also hasn't gone completely overboard with the rugged add-ons. The raised ride height will definitely catch your eye, as will the chunky Pirelli Scorpion All Terrain Plus tires and available roof basket. Those tires are wrapped around 19-/20-inch staggered Dakar wheels in Satin Black with an outer rim in polished silver, but grey or white wheels are also on the menu. To make the Dakar as usable as possible, Pirelli P Zero summer tires and winter tires are also available.
A new fixed lightweight rear spoiler is crafted from carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP), as is the front trunk lid with air outlets borrowed from the GT3. Red aluminum towing lugs are not typical of 911s, and the same goes for the stainless steel protective trim found dotted around the Dakar. Stainless steel grilles for the side air intakes in the front bumper provide protection from flying rocks, while the widened wheel wells and black wheel arch extensions are suitably sporty. A more familiar feature is the dual exhaust outlets at the back. LED-Matrix Design headlights are standard, along with the characteristic four-point LED spotlights and LED taillights.
Although it is obscenely expensive at $28,470, the Rallye Design Package in white/Gentian Blue really gives the Dakar the rally-bred looks it deserves. It includes decals that reference the winning 911 from the 1984 Paris-Dakar Rally, along with rally stripes, white Dakar wheels, and various interior adornments. A carbon fiber roof is available as a standalone option, but a sunroof isn't available at all.

Dimensions
Height is the primary differentiating factor between the Porsche 911 Dakar's dimensions and those of other 911s. At 52.7 inches tall, it is 1.8 inches taller than the Carrera 4 GTS upon which it is based. Its width of 73.4 inches (with the mirrors folded) is half an inch up on the 4 GTS, but the length of 178.6 inches is virtually identical in size. Like other 911s, the Dakar retains a 96.5-inch wheelbase.
At 3,552 pounds, the Dakar is 16 lbs heavier than the Carrera GT4 S with the PDK transmission.

Exterior Colors
White, black, and GT Silver metallic are the only standard exterior colors for the Porsche 911 Dakar. For $3,270, buyers can unlock one of three special colors: Shade Green metallic, Ice Grey metallic, and Shark Blue. White/Gentian Blue metallic is a great choice, but this can only be selected as part of the $28,470 Rallye Design Package that comes with a host of other extras. If that selection isn't quite varied enough, the $12,830 Paint to Sample option comes with a massive array of colors, including some eye-popping ones like Gulforange, Mint Green, and Riviera Blue.
Various Rallye decal sets, black mirrors, and black brake calipers (replacing the standard red ones) are a few of the other exterior customization options.
